To promote the establishment and implementation of the "Inner Mongolia University of Technology (IMUT) Global Study Center," IMUT’s International Cooperation and Exchange Office and the Youth League Committee collaborated with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), the University of Malaya (UM), and the Asia China Education and Culture (ACEC) Association to organize a successful winter study tour. The program facilitated in-depth exchanges with top ASEAN universities and renowned international enterprises.
The 10-day, 9-night program encompassed diverse activities, including explorations of Malaysia’s cities and historical culture, company visits, campus and laboratory tours, theoretical courses, and cultural experiences. Over 20 students from IMUT and Malaysian universities participated in this enriching program.
UiTM, Malaysia’s largest public university, is ranked 555th in the 2024 QS World University Rankings. With 34 campuses and a student body of 200,000, UiTM contributed theoretical courses on international business and corporate management while offering participants immersive experiences in Malaysia’s traditional culture.
UM, Malaysia’s leading public university, ranked 65th in the 2024 QS World University Rankings, welcomed students to its Faculty of Engineering. Participants engaged with cutting-edge facilities, including the Civil Engineering Laboratory, Advanced Structural Laboratory, and Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering Laboratory.
As a representative of China's top enterprises abroad, Huawei (Malaysia) guided students on a tour of its Kuala Lumpur Innovation Center. The visit highlighted Huawei's role in providing technological services to Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries.
The tour also featured a visit to Malaysia’s National Container Company, the largest logistics enterprise in the country. Students explored its facilities near Kuala Lumpur, gaining insights into Malaysia’s logistics systems at key ports such as Kuantan, Port Klang, Penang, and Johor, located near the Strait of Malacca.
Through this winter study program, IMUT students broadened their international horizons, gained a deeper understanding of Malaysia’s culture and education, and fostered friendships with peers from BRI countries.
Such global experiences lay a solid foundation for the students' future development, enhancing their competitiveness in an increasingly globalized world. As 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, the initiative is expected to pave the way for further collaboration between IMUT and Malaysian universities, promoting deeper educational exchanges between the two nations.
